Passport

Passport valid for at least six months is required by all nationals.

Visa

Sudanese travel visas are expensive and difficult to acquire for some nationalities in some countries or for people with an Israeli stamp in their passport. It is advisable to obtain a Sudanese visa in your home country if possible.

Visa is required by all nationals except transit passengers continuing their journey from Sudan within 24 hours.

Applications should be made at the Sudanese Consulate or Consular section of the Sudanese Embassy in your home country.

Note: All foreigners are required to register within three days of arrival. It costs SDG110 and if in Khartoum it could take you a full day. Alternately many hotels will complete the registration on your behalf. Registration is also possible in Wadi Halfa, and shouldn't take more than an hour. They are also required to notify the authorities also in case they move from one locally to another.

Types of Visa

Single-entry Tourist, Business or Transit.

Exit Visa

An exit visa must be obtained by all Sudanese nationals as well as by foreigners who have resided in Sudan, for longer than three months.

Validity of Visa

Tourist or Business: two months from the date of issue for two months.

Visits may be extended through the Passport, Immigration and Nationality Office in Khartoum.

Registration Requirements

• Completion of registration form.
• One passport-size photo.
• Letter of sponsorship from a Sudanese citizen, company or hotel.
• Fees.

Upon completion of these formalities, a visitor is granted a one-month residency in Sudan, unless the visa authority states otherwise.

Processing Time

Up to three months.
